Driver Education

Note: Requirements, passing test scores, and fees are subject to change without notice. All credits must appear on an accredited two- or four-year college or university transcript.

This endorsement authorizes the holder to teach driver education in all public schools.

This endorsement is only offered as a Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS) or a standard certificate.

Licensure Requirement

Hold a ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ CEAS or standard certificate in health or in health and physical education.

Hold a valid ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ or out-of-state driver’s license. Candidates must also submit an official driving record or abstract from the state in which they are currently licensed to demonstrate the possession of a valid driver’s license.

Experience

Submit a personal notarized statement documenting three consecutive years of successful automobile driving experience immediately prior to application.

Subject Matter Preparation

Coursework Requirements

Complete a course in driver education.

The final determination as to which courses will be counted towards the subject matter is based on content standards found in the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Student Learning Standards.
