$9 Million Contract from National Cancer Institute Awarded for NJ State Cancer Registry

New Brunswick, N.J., April 27, 2021 – The ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ State Cancer Registry (NJSCR), under the direction of the State Department of Health in partnership with Rutgers Cancer Institute of ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ, has been awarded a seven-year, $9,085,109 contract (75N91021D00009) from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) to support core infrastructure and research activities as part of the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program.

Certification and Funding

Quality control is an integral part of the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ State Cancer Registry (NJSCR). We review and evaluate the quality of our data through edit programs, and re-abstracting studies. We strive to improve data collection activities through targeted training programs. The North American Association of Central Cancer Registries (NAACCR) has granted the NJSCR its Gold Certification, the highest standard possible, for the quality of data since the inception of this standard.
