Media Advisory: Health Commissioner to Visit Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital to Promote Flu Vaccination of Healthcare Workers
Don’t Wait, Vaccinate
Cherry Hill, NJ – On Thursday, January 24, ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Health Commissioner Dr. Shereef Elnahal will join Joe Devine, President, Jefferson Health ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Division and Board Chair of the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Hospital Association; and Cathy Bennett, ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Hospital Association President and CEO, to talk with hospital clinicians about the importance of healthcare workers getting vaccinated as part of the Department’s #FightTheFluNJ campaign.
The event will begin at 11 a.m. in the lobby at Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital, 2201 Chapel Ave. West, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
The ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Department of Health recommends all healthcare personnel get vaccinated annually against influenza. When healthcare personnel get vaccinated, not only are they protected, but they also protect those who are more vulnerable to serious flu illness — babies, young children, older people, and individuals with certain illnesses.
Jefferson Health in ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ had 100 percent compliance in its most recent staff flu program: 97 percent of Jefferson Health (NJ) staff were vaccinated against flu last year. The remaining three percent included those with medical or religious exemptions.
³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ is seeing high flu activity in every county. To view the Department’s weekly flu reports, visit: /health/cd/statistics/flu-stats/.
