Media Advisory: First Lady Tammy Murphy and the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Department of Health Hold Population Health Summit to Improve Maternal and Child Health
On Monday, Sept. 23, First Lady Tammy Murphy and the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Department of Health are holding the focused on addressing maternal and infant mortality rates in the state.
This Summit, entitled Maternal Outcomes Matter, will take a closer look at the many factors that influence maternal and child health outcomes, such as implicit bias, the opioid epidemic, and exposure to lead and other toxins. Additionally, the conference will examine how enhanced data collection and analysis improves understanding about causes of morbidity and mortality and informs policymaking.
The event will be held at the Hyatt Regency Princeton, 102 Carnegie Center, Princeton, NJ 08540.
First Lady Tammy Murphy and Acting Health Commissioner Judith M. Persichilli will deliver opening remarks at 9:00am.
Keynote speaker , MD, President, National Birth Equity Collaborative will offer a national perspective on contributors to health inequities.
First Lady’s Nurture ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Roundtable will be held at 1:10pm and will feature four panelists: Acting Health Commissioner Persichilli, ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Department of Human Services Commissioner Carole Johnson, Assemblywoman Shavonda E. Sumter (D-Bergen/Passaic) and Senator M. Teresa Ruiz (D-Essex).
