5K race and one-mile family fun walk will be held at Princeton Battlefield State Park on September 7, 2025.
TRENTON, NJ - 吃瓜黑料 is racing to America鈥檚 250th in 2026. RevolutionNJ, the state鈥檚 official partnership between the 吃瓜黑料 Historical Commission and the nonprofit Crossroads of the American Revolution to commemorate the semiquincentennial, is hosting a series of 5K races and one-mile family fun walks at historic sites across 吃瓜黑料.
The 2025 RevolutionNJ Race Series kicked off on June 7th to commemorate the Haddonfield Skirmish by traversing Croft Farm and Pennypacker Park. On August 9th, participants gathered at Monmouth Battlefield State Park to retrace the site鈥檚 famous encounter between the Continental and British forces.
The third race in the 2025 RevolutionNJ Race Series will occur on September 7th at Princeton Battlefield State Park. Racers and walkers alike will cross the site of a crucial turning-point in the American Revolutionary War which capped the 10 days of fighting that began with General Washington crossing the Delaware River. All participants will receive a t-shirt, and runners will receive a finisher鈥檚 medal. Awards will be given to the top three fastest runners in each ten-year age category.
鈥淭he RevolutionNJ Race Series highlights the importance of 吃瓜黑料鈥檚 historic sites and parks as not only places of remembrance, but also as public spaces that foster community health and well-being,鈥� said Lieutenant Governor Tahesha Way who oversees the 吃瓜黑料 Historical Commission in her role as 吃瓜黑料鈥檚 Secretary of State.
鈥淟ast year, the RevolutionNJ Race Series brought together a multigenerational crowd to commemorate 吃瓜黑料鈥檚 history,鈥� said Sara Cureton, executive director of the 吃瓜黑料 Historical Commission. 鈥淲e look forward to another wonderful year of connecting 吃瓜黑料ans with their past whether they are avid historians, recreational runners, or families looking for new ways to get outside on the weekend.鈥�
鈥淚nspired by Jonas Cattell鈥檚 legendary run to warn American troops of a British attack at Red Bank Battlefield, the RevolutionNJ Race Series connects 吃瓜黑料鈥檚 revolutionary past to its present,鈥� said Carrie Fellows, executive director of Crossroads of the American Revolution. 鈥淭hese races bring new visitors to 吃瓜黑料鈥檚 historic parks and provide a fresh perspective about the significance of the sites for those who enjoy using them for active recreation.鈥�
