A new public-facing dashboard aimed at helping residents make informed decisions when choosing a nursing home has been launched by the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Department of Health (NJDOH).

Stop Elder Abuse

LTCO advocates for the rights of residents of long-term care facilities and investigates allegations of abuse, neglect and exploitation. LTCO is the voice of the state’s most vulnerable institutionalized elderly citizens.

Local Volunteer Opportunities

You can help to improve the lives of elderly residents of long-term care facilities in your neighborhood. Volunteers receive 32 hours of free training.  Classes are forming now.

Weeding Out Medicaid Fraud

Laurie Facciarossa Brewer, ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ’s Long-Term Care Ombudsman, joined Acting State Comptroller Kevin D. Walsh and Joshua Lichtblau, Director of the Medicaid Fraud Division, to discuss their offices’ collaboration in holding nursing homes accountable. The virtual presentation was hosted by the Long-Term Care Community Coalition.

Resident Stories — #MedicaidSavesLives — Louis

Louis Bonilla, resident of a nursing home in Ocean County, received lifesaving medical care thanks to Medicaid and Medicare, and now he is sharing his story to bolster the campaign to #SaveMedicaid from looming federal budget cuts. Louis is a member of NJ Nursing ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Residents United, a group of nursing home residents that works closely with LTCO’s Community Engagement Program to advocate for residents’ rights.
