Safety Programs Management

The Office of Safety Programs Management oversees the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏ Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) and associated initiatives. The Office ensures compliance with federal reporting requirements and provides the technical backbone for implementing safety strategies statewide.

Responsibilities include:

  • Compiling and submitting HSIP reports to FHWA
  • Developing and updating the NJ Strategic Highway Safety Plan (SHSP)
  • Providing technical guidance and support for HSIP-funded projects
  • Creating Problem Statements for high-risk locations
  • Managing HSIP-funded safety planning contracts
  • Developing and maintaining Safety Management System
  • Leading Data-Driven Safety Analyses (DDSA)
  • Supporting crash data review and analysis
  • Serving as safety subject matter experts on NJDOT capital projects
